International BancardDetroit, MI

International Bancard relocated their headquarters from the suburbs to Downtown Detroit, Michigan, to be a part of the exciting movement happening in the city. They hired Sachse Construction transform 12,000 square feet of office space on the seventh and eighth floors into a sophisticated, urban environment for their operations.

The space showcases a custom light fixture package that was developed by local artist Aaron Jones to serve as a pipe support system. The pipes not only provide a decorative element, but they also serve as a functional conduit for the light fixture wiring. Prior to installation, the pipe system required city approval to ensure code compliance. Because Sachse Construction has experience working with the city of Detroit on numerous projects, we were able to develop a process to approve multiple sections of the light fixtures to expedite the process.

International Bancard’s new office successfully captures the company’s innovative culture by incorporating various textures and materials such as brick and wood with high-tech conference rooms and collaboration areas. The result is a successful open floor concept that promotes teamwork and ingenuity.
