Derek Slupka has more than 20 years experience in the field of commercial architecture. He received his Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Detroit, and he handles the planning, schematic design, design development and preparation of construction documents for Sachse Construction. A skilled intermediary, he interacts directly with the client and other design professionals in the pre-construction phase of the project to keep the lines of communication open so that not a detail is missed.
Since joining us in 1995, Derek has focused on commercial office, retail and industrial projects. As one of our LEED® Accredited Professionals, he stays current with the latest knowledge and understanding of green building practices in order to ensure that Sachse remains one of the most qualified, and influential green builders in the marketplace. He is also a Registered Architect in the State of Michigan and a member of the American Institute of Architects, in addition to being our Director of Information Technologies. His expertise and drive have been instrumental in the success of projects completed for numerous high-profile clients, including Sun Communities, J.D. Power & Associates, GE Commercial Finance, the Chrysler Corporation, the Children’s Center of Oakland, Semco Energy & Gas Co., the University of Michigan, and the Target Corporation. He currently resides in Davisburg, Michigan where he enjoys sailing and spending time with his wife.
