Todd Sachse founded Sachse Construction in 1991 as a construction management and general contracting firm built on a commitment to excellence and an extraordinary work ethic. This was also the same year we were awarded our first project: Café Jardin at Somerset Collection in Troy, MI.

Nature Company

Sachse Construction was hired to complete the buildout of a new Nature Company store at Universal Studios in Universal City, CA. At 4,000 square feet, this first out-of-state success catalyzed a slew of new opportunities for Sachse Construction across the United States.

In 1997, we held our first charity golf outing which would later become a branch of the Play it Foreward Charity Golf Outing. In 2019, the golf outing raised over $240,000 given to the Detroit Boxing Gym and Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan.

The Dime Building

One of Detroit’s oldest skyscrapers, the Dime Building — now known as the Chrysler House — required major upgrades after a low occupancy rate for many years. Sachse Construction was hired to complete core and shell work throughout 27 floors of this 85,000-square-foot historic office building.

Residence Inn

Sachse Construction was hired to manage the construction of Residence Inn in Novi, MI – our first hotel build. The project consisted of the ground up construction of a 107-key hotel, sitework, and underground utilities. In the end, the project team was able to successfully complete their first hotel project ahead of schedule.

In 2004, the team officially adopted Gino Wickman’s EOS model, a set of simple concepts and practical tools that help businesses grow. The team continues to follow the EOS model today with a commitment to hard work, high standards, and the integrity to do the right thing.

Sachse Construction opened a satellite office on the 24th floor of the historic Guardian Building to expand our presence in Detroit’s construction revitalization.

Excited to play a bigger role in Detroit, our team relocated our headquarters to downtown Detroit. The creative yet sophisticated Woodward space inspires our team members each day and impresses every client who stops by for a visit.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary by giving back to the community through our first annual Sachse Construction Academy alongside Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan. This annual, one-day event introduces Detroit high school students to the skilled trades as a rewarding potential career path. That same year, our team completed Detroit’s first lifestyle-driven multifamily project in over 15 years: The Scott at Brush Park.

We launched our Sachse Social Mission: An enhanced commitment to Detroit youth opportunity and advancement; workforce development in the skilled trades; and team member volunteer opportunities. In conjunction with this launch, we expanded the Sachse Construction Academy to allow young adults to interview for job opportunities within the skilled trades.
